Phoenix Rowing Club Regatta

Row to Recovery was delighted to send a crew to row at the Phoenix Rowing Club Regatta, which was held in Island Bridge, Dublin in September.

Our mixed crew did us proud, and it was a very close race over 350 meters.

It was a great opportunity to meet new friends and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting the participants from The Defence Forces; Graiguenamanagh Phoenix,Neptune, and Galway Rowing Clubs

The races over, it was time to enjoy the tasty bar b que and a desert tent that could have come straight from the Great British Bake Off.

Congratulations to Phoenix Rowing Club for hosting such a successful Regatta. We hope to reciprocate and invite our new friends to Galway in the not too distant future.

Why Rowing?

Why Rowing?

Rowing is a cerebral low impact sport that utilizes the whole body and is accessible to all, regardless of fitness level. While a certain level of fitness is helpful, full training is offered by certified coaches and absolute beginners are welcome. Nor is age a barrier, our members range from early forty to late sixty.

Regaining a level of fitness, learning the skill of rowing, training and being part of a rowing crew in a very supportive, non competitive, fun manner are just some of the many benefits cancer patients have found when they join our crew.
